At the 2025 American Music Awards held at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas, South African singer Tyla secured the Favorite Afrobeats Artist award, surpassing notable Nigerian artists Wizkid, Tems, Rema, and Asake.

Tyla's victory adds to her growing list of accolades, including a Grammy Award for Best African Music Performance for her hit single "Water" in 2024.

The 2025 AMAs also saw Billie Eilish dominate the evening with seven awards, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.
