Janet Jackson is set to be honored with the prestigious Icon Award at the 2025 American Music Awards (AMAs), recognizing her profound impact on the music industry. The ceremony will take place on May 26 at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas and will be broadcast live on CBS and Paramount+ at 8 p.m. ET.
In addition to receiving the award, Jackson will deliver her first live television performance since 2018, marking a significant moment in her illustrious career.
The AMAs' Icon Award celebrates artists whose music has had an undeniable cultural and global influence. Previous recipients include Rihanna in 2013 and Lionel Richie in 2022.
Jackson's career spans over five decades, with more than 180 million records sold worldwide. She has earned numerous accolades, including five Grammy Awards, 11 American Music Awards, and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Following the AMAs, Jackson will continue her Las Vegas residency, "JANET JACKSON: LAS VEGAS," at Resorts World Theatre, with performances scheduled from May 28 to May 31.
The 2025 AMAs will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez, who will also perform during the event. Kendrick Lamar leads the nominations with ten nods, followed by Post Malone with eight, and Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan, and Shaboozey with seven each.
