Inter Miami ended a four-match winless streak with a 4-2 victory over CF Montréal at Chase Stadium on May 28, 2025. Lionel Messi and Luis Suárez each scored twice and provided an assist, leading the team to a crucial win ahead of the FIFA Club World Cup.

Messi opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a left-footed strike from outside the penalty area, assisted by Sergio Busquets. In the second half, Messi set up Suárez for a goal in the 68th minute, and Suárez added another three minutes later. Messi sealed the victory with his second goal in the 87th minute.

Despite the win, Inter Miami faced challenges, including first-half injuries to Gonzalo Luján, Jordi Alba, and Federico Redondo.

With this performance, Messi became the first player in Inter Miami history to record 50 goal contributions in regular-season play, totaling 29 goals and 21 assists in 37 matches.
